US Eases Sanctions to Allow Russian Diesel Imports
The US Treasury authorised imports of Russian diesel until April 7, 2027, easing fuel sanctions after a call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Trump announced forthcoming supplies, though accounts gave volumes ranging from 300,000 tonnes initially to 3 million tonnes soon. The Kremlin said Russia was ready to supply US and global markets. US, European, Ukrainian and NATO representatives also met in Miami to discuss ending the Ukraine war before winter.
The Trump administration imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court that bar US companies from serving it. The restrictions could force banks, insurers and software providers to cut ties, extending previous measures against individual court officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the ICC a “rogue court” but said it and its member states could address US concerns.

An unknown projectile struck a vessel west of the United Arab Emirates, starting a fire that the crew extinguished. Separately, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed it hit the NV Sunshine, an LPG carrier, as it tried to sail south of the Strait of Hormuz. The claim was not independently verified.
