US Threatens Iran’s Power Grid as Regional Strikes Intensify

In the 24 hours ending 15 July 07:30 UTC, the United States sharply increased pressure on Iran’s civilian infrastructure.

Donald Trump, US president, threatened to attack Iranian power plants and bridges next week. He said attacks would continue until he decided they were enough.

Trump said he did not want negotiations now. However, he said Iran could prevent the planned attacks by returning to talks.

Trump also refused to rule out a ground campaign in Iran. He did not confirm any plan to seize Kharg Island.

US forces carried out seven hours of strikes against Iran. They hit dozens of missile sites, drone sites, naval assets, and coastal defense systems.

Heavy US strikes also hit Chabahar in southeastern Iran. Explosions were reported in Sirik and other southern areas near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran launched another wave of missiles and drones against US-linked sites across the region. Bahrain activated warning sirens during another attack.

Kuwaiti air defenses responded to incoming drones. An Iranian Shahed drone struck a warehouse in Kuwait.

Explosions and air defense activity were also reported near a US base in Jordan.

Commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remained far below normal. Fewer than 12 visible ships crossed during the day, all using Iran’s northern route.

The United States expanded UAE access to advanced artificial intelligence chips. The decision followed UAE strikes on Iran, missile interceptions, and efforts to keep oil moving.

Ali al-Zaidi, Iraqi prime minister, met US defense leaders at the Pentagon. Washington urged Iraq to act against Iran-backed armed groups inside its government and security forces.

Ukrainian drones opened a new large attack on Russian ships in the Black Sea. Ukraine said 20 vessels were hit.
